Business Intelligence Team Lead

One of our exciting clients, a casino and sportsbook platform provider, is in search of a BI Team lead to join their team on a hybrid basis.

The BI Team Lead/Chief Data and Analytics Officer will be reporting to the CEO and will be responsible for owning, processing, and analyzing all data from their business partners and internal sources.

Key responsibilities:

  • Sourcing Data: Proactively communicate with business partners to gather relevant data through effective questioning.
  • Data Integration: Integrate data into third-party systems to ensure accessibility for all stakeholders.
  • Data Translation: Transform data into comprehensible reports and business intelligence solutions, addressing the “why” behind the data.
  • Customized Reports: Create reports, scorecards, and dashboards tailored to different organizational needs and stakeholders, providing regular updates on KPIs.
  • Power BI Expertise: Utilize advanced knowledge of Power BI tools to maintain and improve the visualization of business KPIs.
  • Ownership of Workflow: Manage the entire data workflow, from request to data delivery, reporting, and analysis, with a focus on improving value and efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Develop strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including the CEO, Departmental Heads, and Product Owners.
  • Data Accessibility: Enhance data accessibility across departments, fostering collaboration with Business Partners, Product, Operational teams, and other technical groups to provide insightful recommendations.
  • Performance Metrics: Highlight key performance metrics, trends, and improvement opportunities to guide marketing and promotional activities.
  • Recommendations: Provide actionable suggestions to boost client engagement, increase customer lifetime value, and optimize marketing strategies.
  • Documentation: Accurately document procedural changes and manage the impacts associated with procedural changes and implementations.
  • Cross-Company Projects: Manage and participate in cross-company/ enterprise projects.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of experienced data and reporting professionals responsible for providing company-wide reporting and analytics.
  • Process Optimization: Ensure processes and techniques are optimized for delivering high-quality, timely reports.
  • Standards Development: Establish and maintain standards with a focus on ease of maintenance and team brand recognition.
  • Team Building: Develop a team of professionals by promoting skill-building, knowledge sharing, cross-training, and creative problem-solving.
  • Hands-On Contribution: Lead by example through coaching team members and occasionally participating in activities such as requirements gathering, design, development, and testing using various reporting tools and database platforms (Tableau, SQL, Oracle, Teradata, and Google BigQuery).

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of BI/Analytics experience, preferably in the gambling industry.
  • Proficiency in Google BigQuery, Tableau, and/or Alteryx (must).
  • Familiarity with BitBucket, Confluence, Git, and JIRA (preferred).
  • Expertise in ROI analysis and SQL for data manipulation
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail, adaptability in fast-changing environments, and multitasking skills.
  • Track record of leading analytical teams, capturing requirements, prioritizing tasks, and managing expectations.
  • Proficient in simplifying complex information for diverse audiences.
  • Enthusiastic about data, reporting tools, and process improvements.
  • Commitment to data validation and logical thinking.
  • Proven experience in managing and developing people and teams.
  • Experience creating and/or optimizing processes to ensure operational excellence.
