Senior Accountant

On behalf of our client in the iGaming industry we are recruiting an Accountant to join their international Finance team in Sofia, Bulgaria.
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical part in managing and improving financial processes while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Duties:

• Overseeing and recording daily financial transactions in line with company policies and regulations
• Conducting interim and year-end closures of the accounting records
• Preparing financial reports for various regulatory bodies, including VAT returns and statistical filings
• Compiling annual standalone and consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS
• Contributing to the monthly group financial reporting process
• Ensuring all accounting procedures comply with local laws, IFRS, and applicable regulatory frameworks
• Analysing accounting data to detect discrepancies, proposing and executing corrections
• Managing relationships and coordination with external accounting firms
• Supporting external audits by preparing and delivering necessary reports and documentation

Required Skills & Experience:

• University degree in Accounting or Finance
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, with 3–4 years in a senior accountant role
• Solid understanding of local GAAP and IFRS
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues, partners, and authorities
• Experience in iGaming industry
• Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
• Experience with ERP systems is a strong advantage
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to meet tight deadlines
